Rising Stars of Rutland

We have a fabulous extracurricular programme of activities, trips and visits known as the Rising Stars of Rutland including over 50 sports teams and clubs, 20 trips and visits on offer in Y7 alone, an award-winning Duke of Edinburgh Programme, Debating Society, Friday Debates, Ambassadors of Excellence Programme, Top Trumps Club, Children in Need funded Expressive Arts programme, School Productions, Concerts, Casterton's Got Talent, Junior Masterchef, Choirs, Bands, Instrumental and Singing tuition, Rock School, LAMDA Acting courses, Drama Club, Science Club, Art Club, Warhammer and Board Games Club, Coding Club, Junior Maths Challenge, Chess Club, CCR Green, Young Librarians, History of Absolutely Everything Programme, Student Council, and Prep Club, and we are a specialist Centre for Parliamentary Education and English-speaking Union accredited Oracy school.

There are too many trips to mention them all here, but they include end-of-term rewards trips to outdoor pursuit centres, Pantomimes, Iceland, Belgium, Barcelona, Berlin, Italy, Skiing, Harry Potter World, Silverstone Racing Circuit, Bletchley Park, Alton Towers, Poetry Live, Dovedale, Hunstanton, the Natural History Museum, National Art Gallery, Imperial war Museum, National Space Centre, Careers Fairs, Theatres, and Area Sports and our students perform at local concerts, theatres, ceremonies and many more besides. We also have Christmas and Summer Fayres, Book Buzz, visits from authors, politicians and business leaders as well as Sports Days and a host of charity events in school throughout the year.

Over time, students build a 'Rising Stars of Rutland Portfolio', charting their experiences and achievements through our House values of Aspire, Endeavour, Fortitude and Perseverance.
